Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Installation

2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Installation

  1. Set a new gasket, install the engine coolant temperature sensor using the ST.
    NOTE:

    STRUT MOUNT SOCKET (20099PA000) can also be used.Β 

    Preparation tool:Β 

    ST: STRUT MOUNT SOCKET (20399AG000)

    Tightening torque:Β 

    16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

  2. Connect the connector.
  3. Set the electric compressor assembly and temporarily install the compressor bracket - front.

  4. Tighten the compressor bracket - front in the numerical order shown in the figure.

    Tightening torque:Β 

    T1: 26.5 N.m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.5 ft-lb)

    T2: 36 N.m (3.7 kgf-m, 26.6 ft-lb)

  5. Install the inverter tank.

    Tightening torque:Β 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  6. Lift up the vehicle.
  7. Install the inverter radiator outlet hose and inverter tank outlet hose to the clamp.

  8. Install the front under cover. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>INSTALLATION .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the bracket - hood stay.

    Tightening torque:Β 

    18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)

  11. Install the cover UPR - front.

  12. Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
  13. Install the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>COLLECTOR COVER>INSTALLATION .
  14. Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  15. Fill engine coolant. (Engine side) Ref. to COOLING (H4DO(HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT>ENGINE SIDE .
