Air Cleaner Case: Removal

2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Removal
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE:

    For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.Β 

  2. Remove the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE DUCT>REMOVALΒ 
  3. Disconnect the connector (A) from the mass air flow and intake air temperature sensor, and remove the clip (B).
  4. Disconnect the air intake boot (C), remove the clip (D), and remove the air cleaner case (rear) and air cleaner element.

  5. Remove the nut securing the inverter front water pipe to the bracket. (Hybrid model)

  6. Remove the air cleaner case (front).
    NOTE:

    For hybrid models, perform the procedure while sliding the inverter front water pipe.Β
