Sunroof Assembly: Removal
2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Removal
CAUTION:
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- When removing the clip, use great care not to damage the trim panel - roof assembly.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE:
- For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Completely close the lid assembly - sunroof, then disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. (Except for hybrid model)
- Completely close the lid assembly - sunroof, then disconnect the battery ground terminal. (Hybrid model)
- Remove the light assembly - map. (Models without EyeSight) Ref. to LIGHTING SYSTEM>SPOT MAP LIGHT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the stereo camera cover assembly. (Models with EyeSight) Ref. to EYESIGHT>STEREO CAMERA>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the connector of the motor assembly - sunroof.
- Remove the trim panel - roof assembly.
- 4 door model: Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>ROOF TRIM>REMOVAL>4 DOOR MODEL .
- 5 door model: Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>ROOF TRIM>REMOVAL>5 DOOR MODEL .
- Remove the drain tube - sunroof.NOTE:
When removing the drain tube - sunroof completely, perform the step 8 .
- Remove the rail assembly - sunroof.
- Remove the bolt, and then remove the rail assembly - sunroof.
- Remove the bolts (2 places) securing the curtain airbag module.CAUTION:
- Do not remove the clips securing the curtain airbag module. If any of the clips are removed, the curtain airbag module may not deploy properly in collision. If the clip is removed, replace the curtain airbag module assembly.
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Be careful not to damage the curtain airbag module during removal.
- Remove the bolts and then remove the sunroof bracket.
- Remove the bolt, and then remove the rail assembly - sunroof.
- Remove the drain tube - sunroof.NOTE:
For easy replacement work, attach a string when pulling the drain tube - sunroof.
- Front side
- Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the glove box assembly. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>GLOVE BOX>REMOVAL .
- Turn over the toe board insulator while avoiding to touch the harness around the drain tube.
- Remove the clips, and turn over the rear side of the mud guard - front.NOTE:
Remove the front wheels as necessary.
- Remove the front side of drain tube - sunroof.
- Remove the drain tube - sunroof.
- Rear side
- Remove the mat - trunk and trim panel - trunk side. (4 door model) Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>TRUNK ROOM TRIM>REMOVAL .
- Remove the bumper face - rear.
- Remove the rear side of drain tube - sunroof.
- Remove the drain tube - sunroof.
- Front side
