Oil Pan Lower

2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5iSECTION Oil Pan Lower

  1. Apply liquid gasket to the mating surface of oil pan lower, and install the oil pan lower.
    NOTE:
    • Before installing the oil pan lower, wipe and clean the mating surface of the oil pan lower and oil pan upper.
    • Use a new oil pan seal ring.
    • Install within 5 min. after applying liquid gasket.

    Liquid gasket: 

    THREE BOND 1217G (Part No. K0877Y0100), THREE BOND 1217H or equivalent 

    Liquid gasket applying diameter: 

    5±1 mm (0.197±0.039 in)

  2. Tighten the bolts securing the oil pan lower to the oil pan upper in the numerical order.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  3. Install the under cover. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Front Under Cover. >
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Refill the engine oil. < Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Engine Oil. >
