DTC B1408 Meter Non-Volatile Memory: Trouble Symptom

  • Engine will not start.
  • The security indicator illuminates.
    CAUTION: When the combination meter is replaced, registration of the immobilizer system is required. For details, refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

1 CHECK COMBINATION METER REGISTRATION.Β 
  1. Perform the Clear Memory Mode. (Combination meter and body integrated unit) < Ref. to CLEAR MEMORY MODE . > < Ref. to CLEAR MEMORY MODEΒ . >
  2. Perform registration of combination meter. Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER" provided as a separate volume.
  3. Read the DTC of the body integrated unit. < Ref. to READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)Β . >
Is DTC B1408 displayed? Replace the combination meter. < Ref. to COMBINATION METER . > Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
