Intake Manifold: Removal
2007 Subaru Outback Limited, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Removal
- Release the fuel pressure.
<Ref. to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .>
- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
- Open the fuel filler flap lid, and remove the fuel filler cap.
- Remove the air intake duct, air cleaner case and air intake chamber. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Duct .> <Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Cleaner Case .> <Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Chamber .>
- Remove the generator. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Generators .>
- Remove the spark plug cords from the spark plugs by pulling the plug caps. (Do not pull the cord.)
- Disconnect the engine coolant hoses (A) from throttle body.
- Disconnect the brake booster hose (A).
- Disconnect the PCV hose (A) from intake manifold.
- Disconnect the engine harness connectors (B) from bulkhead harness connectors.
- Disconnect the connectors from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
- Disconnect the connector from crankshaft position sensor.
- Disconnect the connector from power steering pump switch (A).
- Disconnect the connector from the oil pressure switch (B).
- Disconnect the connector from the camshaft position sensor.
- Remove the EGR pipe from intake manifold.
- Disconnect the following connector.
- Front oxygen (A/F) sensor connector
- Rear oxygen sensor connector
- Engine harness connectors
- Disconnect the fuel hoses from fuel pipe.
- Disconnect the quick connector on the fuel delivery line by pushing the ST in the direction of the arrow. ST 42099AE000 CONNECTOR REMOVER
- Remove the clip and disconnect the evaporation hose from the pipe.
- Remove the bolts which secure intake manifold to cylinder head.
- Remove the intake manifold.
