Front Differential Assembly: Removal
2004 Subaru Baja Base, StandardSECTION Removal
- Remove the manual transmission assembly from vehicle. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the transfer case with extension case assembly. Refer to TRANSFER CASE AND EXTENSION CASE ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the transmission case. Refer to REMOVAL , Transmission Case.
- Remove the drive pinion shaft assembly. Refer to DRIVE PINION SHAFT ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the main shaft assembly.
Refer to REMOVAL , Main Shaft Assembly.
- Remove the differential assembly.NOTE:
- Be careful not to confuse the right and left roller bearing outer races.
- Be careful not to damage the retainer oil seal.
