2002 Subaru Forester BaseSECTION Using OBD-II Scan Tool

To clear ECM memory using OBD-II scan tool, turn ignition off and connect scan tool to 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure, Figure and Figure . Turn ignition and scan tool on. Enter MODE $04 to clear ECM memory. For detailed operation of scan tool, refer to scan tool manufacturer's operating manual. After memory has been cleared, Idle Speed Control motor must be initialized. See ISC INITIALIZATIONΒ  under PROGRAMMING.
