- Obtain radio anti-theft protection code from vehicle owner prior to servicing vehicle or deactivate radio anti-theft function before disconnecting vehicle battery.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect and shield negative battery cable. Wait at least ONE MINUTE for back-up power supply to be depleted.
- Remove steering column cover. Unplug driver air bag module connector. See Figure.
- Remove glove box. Unplug passenger air bag module connector at right, rear of glove box opening. Unplug side air bag connectors under driver and passenger seats.
