Trouble Shooting: Notes

1998 Subaru Forester L, StandardSECTION Notes
  1. Turn ignition switch to ACC or IGN position. Check power mirror fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If fuse is okay, turn ignition switch off. Remove switch from instrument panel by prying outward. Disconnect switch harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ACC or RUN position. Check voltage at switch harness connector terminal No. 4. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION  . See Figure or Figure . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair wiring as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check resistance between ground and switch harness connector terminal No. 2 (ground). See POWER MIRROR SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is not 10 ohms or greater, go to COMPONENT TESTS  .
