2016 Scion iM Automatic CVT TransSECTION Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  4. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

  5. ADJUST TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control select cable from the floor shift lever assembly.

    2. Push the 2 claws together at the top of the lock piece. While holding the 2 claws together, push the 2 lugs on the bottom of the lock piece toward each other and upward to push out the lock piece.

    3. Hook the outer select lever of the manual transaxle assembly to the reverse restrict pin assembly to secure it.

    4. Push the slider shaft until it contacts the cam wall.
      NOTE:
      • Do not pull up the slider shaft.
      • When adjusting the transmission control cable assembly, make sure that the shift lever is not in the 1st or 2nd gear position.

    5. Connect the transmission control select cable to the floor shift lever assembly with the clip.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the lock piece is protruding from the adjuster case.
      • When adjusting the transmission control cable assembly, make sure that the shift lever is not in the 1st or 2nd gear position.
    6. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.
      NOTE:

      Securely push in the lock piece until the lock is engaged.

    7. Move the shift lever to R, so that the outer select lever can be released.

  6. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 82
