Circuit/System Testing
2009 Saturn Astra XR, 4D Hatchback, AutomaticSECTION Circuit/System Testing
- Disconnect the harness connector at the radio antenna.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 Ξ© between the outer shield at terminal 1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the antenna coax shield for an open/high resistance. If the coax test normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition ON, test the center terminal at terminal 1 for 9.5-11.0 V
- If less than the specified range, test the antenna coax center terminal for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the coax tests normal, replace the radio.
- If greater than the specified range, test the antenna coax center terminal for a short to voltage. If the coax tests normal, replace the radio.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the radio antenna.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, verify radio reception has improved.
- If there is still poor reception, replace the radio.
