Tie Rod End: Installation

2000 Saturn SW2 AutomaticSECTION Installation
  1. Install tie rod end to inner tie rod threads. Snug jam nut. Thoroughly clean and lightly lubricate tie rod end stud threads. Install tie rod end stud into steering knuckle taper.
  2. Install and tighten tie rod end castle nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  . If cotter pin hole in castle nut does not align with cotter pin hole in tie rod stud, tighten castle nut until holes align. DO NOT loosen castle nut to align holes. Install NEW cotter pin. Check wheel alignment. See appropriate SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
