Air Bag (Inflator) Module: Removal

2000 Saturn SC2 Automatic, MP6SECTION Removal

Disable SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ  . Remove upper steering column shroud bolts, located on outer edges of lower shroud, and remove shroud. Turn steering wheel to 3 o'clock position. Insert short, flat screwdriver into one of triangular holes in steering wheel shroud. Turn screwdriver to release spring fastener while lifting on corner of air bag closest to fastener. Repeat this for next nearest triangular hole. Turn steering wheel to 9 o'clock position. Release spring fasteners of other pair of triangular holes. Disconnect wiring harness from air bag module. Remove module.
