Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

2000 Saturn SC1 L4-1.9L SOHC VIN 8SECTION Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Ignition Off.

CAUTION: Make sure the is centered and properly prior to lifting.

2. Raise vehicle.
3. Disconnect knock sensor harness connector.
4. Remove knock sensor attachment bolt and knock sensor.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: The larger metal contact area of the knock sensor MUST be toward the engine block. DTC P0327 may result if the sensor is installed backwards.

1. Install knock sensor and attachment bolt with larger metal contact area toward engine block.

Torque: 25 N.m (19 ft-lbs)

2. Connect knock sensor harness connector.
