DTC P1816 will set when PCM detects transaxle drive ratio (under load) does not match TR switch position under following conditions:
- Turbine shaft speed is not present initially, then increases to greater than 3 MPH.
- Vehicle speed is not present initially, then increases to greater than 100 RPM.
- Transaxle is in Park or Neutral.
- Engine is running and transaxle fluid temperature is greater than 32°F (0°C)
- No TSS sensor, TR switch or VSS DTCs are present.
