Diagnostic Aids

2000 Saturn LW2 AutomaticSECTION Diagnostic Aids

When Gray wire from BCM to decklid/liftgate release solenoid is shorted to ground and BCM attempts to switch battery voltage, high current flow will result. BCM goes into protective mode and will not allow reactivation for as long as 3 minutes. If problem is intermittent, check wiring harness and connectors for damage, backed out terminals and loose connection. Check for broken or chafed wire insulation. Perform wiggle test to aid in diagnosing intermittents.
