Disabling System (Cougar)
2000 Saturn LW2 AutomaticSECTION Disabling System (Cougar)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 1 minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
- Remove driver air bag module. See DRIVER AIR BAG MODULEΒ . Connect appropriate air bag simulator to clockspring connector at top of steering column, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATORΒ .
- Remove passenger air bag module. See PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULEΒ . Connect appropriate air bag simulator to passenger air bag vehicle harness connector, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATORΒ .
- If equipped with side air bags, disconnect side air bag electrical connectors under front seats. Connect appropriate air bag simulator to driver and passenger side air bag vehicle harness connectors, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATORΒ . Connect negative battery cable.
WARNING:
If vehicle is equipped with side air bags, manufacturer recommends removing front seats (with side air bag modules) before performing electrical diagnosis on air bag system. Seats may be left in vehicle if diagnostics are NOT being performed on side air bag system and air bag simulator is installed in place of side air bag harness.
