2000 Saturn LW1 AutomaticSECTION Test C: Rear Defogger Inoperative, Heated Mirrors Operate Normally
- Disconnect power circuit (Purple wire) at rear defogger grid. Connect test light between ground and rear defogger grid power circuit (Purple wire). Turn ignition on. Press rear defogger switch to ON position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step Β 4 .
- Disconnect ground circuit (Black wire) at rear defogger grid. Connect test light between battery voltage and rear defogger grid ground circuit (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black wire between rear defogger grid and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ .
- Repair or replace rear defogger grid as necessary. See GRID FILAMENT TESTΒ under COMPONENT TESTS.
- Connect test light between ground and Gray 30-pin left instrument panel fuse block connector C1 terminal A5 (Purple wire). See Figure . Ensure rear defogger indicator light is illuminated. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, replace left instrument panel fuse block.
- Repair open in Purple wire between Gray 30-pin left instrument panel fuse block connector C1 terminal A5 and rear defogger grid. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ .
