Disabling System (Lumina)

2000 Saturn LS AutomaticSECTION Disabling System (Lumina)
  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONSΒ . Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and remove key from ignition switch.
  2. Remove fuse No. 21 (AIR BAG or SIR) from fuse block. Fuse block is at far right end of instrument panel. Remove the left-side sound insulator panel from under instrument panel.
  3. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect driver air bag Yellow 2-pin air bag connector at base of steering column. See Figure.
  4. Remove right-hand sound insulator panel from under instrument panel. Remove glove box. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect passenger air bag Yellow 2-pin air bag connector behind glove box. See Figure.
