Connect scan tool to DLC. See COMPONENT LOCATIONSΒ  . Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with Body Control Module (BCM). Check for any DTCs stored in BCM memory which may lead to misdiagnosis of instrument cluster. If scan tool does not communicate with BCM, see appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If any instrument cluster related DTCs are stored in BCM memory, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONSΒ  . If no instrument cluster related DTCs exist in BCM memory, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEXΒ  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
