1997 Saturn SC1 AutomaticSECTION System Operation Check
There are 3 separate chimes differing in frequency of chimes. The headlamp chime is the fast chime. The key minder chime is the medium chime. The seat belt chime is the slow chime.
- With the ignition off, key out of the ignition, and the driver's door open, turn the headlamp switch to HEADLAMPS on. The headlamp chime (fast chime) should come ON and turn OFF when the door is closed.
- If the driver's door is open, and the key has been inserted in the ignition, rotated to accessory and back to lock, the key minder chime (medium chime) should come ON and turn OFF when the door is closed.
- Turn the ignition to RUN. With the driver's seat belt unbuckled, the seat belt chime (slow chime) should turn ON.
- With the driver's seat belt buckled, turn the ignition to RUN. There should be one seat belt chime.
