Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Diagnostic Aids
A shorted or open solenoid, relay or bulb can cause a Code 26. If only one output circuit is bad, PCM will shut down only that circuit and not entire quad-driver. If any corresponding codes exist (i.e., Code 32, EGR), diagnose that quad-driver first. Component Resistances:
- Linear EGR Solenoid 7-10 ohms.
- Canister Purge Solenoid 20-50 ohms.
- Coolant Fan Relay 70-90 ohms.
- A/C Relay 70-90 ohms.
Check circuit No. 817 to passive restraint module for an open or short to ground.
