Diagnostic Procedure

1995 Saturn SL1 AutomaticSECTION Diagnostic Procedure
  1. Record information from MALF history for DTC 43. Clear DTCs. Start and idle engine for 2 minutes. Retrieve DTCs. If DTC 43 is not present, problem is intermittent. If DTC 43 is present go to next step.
  2. Ensure engine is idling. Using test light, verify if voltage is present on at least one actuator fuse (TRS LP, TRS 2/TCC, TRS 3/4) at underhood junction block. If voltage is not present, repair Dark Green wire between fuel pump relay and junction block. If voltage is present, inspect connection at actuator. Repair as needed. If connection is okay, replace PCM.
