1992 Saturn SL1 AutomaticSECTION Removal
- Make sure ignition switch is in the "OFF" position.
- Remove air cleaner (if necessary).
- Remove electrical connector(s) from distributor,
- Loosen distirbutor cap bolts/screws. Set aside distributor cap, If plug wires need to be removed, mark wires for installation reference.
- Note installed position of distributor rotor in relation to engine. Note installed position of distributor housing in relation to engine. Marking rotor installed position, and distributor housing installed position, will help with installation reference.
- Remove distributor hold down bolt/screw. Remove hold down clamp (if eauipped).
- Note rotation of distributor rotor as distributor assembly is pulled upward and mark rotor position when it stops rotation.
- Remove distributor from vehicle.
- Remove distributor gasket from distributor assembly.
