Information Flag 83 - Low Transaxle Temperature: Description

1992 Saturn SL StandardSECTION Description

PCM monitors the transaxle temperature sensor input signal. If PCM detects a constantly low transaxle temperature for more than 21 minutes and information flag 82 is not present, PCM will set information flag 83.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. This step checks if PCM connector is faulty.
  2. This step checks if sensor or PCM may be faulty. If Saturn PDT is available, compare PCM input data with actual sensor resistance.
  3. This step checks for a faulty sensor, circuit or connection.
