Fig. 7 Belt Spring Tension Release:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove power steering pump reservoir fill cap.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Place suitable container below steering gear hoses.
5. Remove steering gear hoses and allow system to drain. Do not rotate steering wheel.
6. Using suitable box end wrench, relieve spring tension from accessory drive belt, then remove belt, Fig. 7.
7. On models equipped with DOHC, remove pump to intake manifold bracket, then pump to engine block bracket.
8. On all models, remove pump to engine block attaching bolts, then raise pump to disconnect EVO electrical connector.
9. Remove pump and hose assembly, then remove hoses.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
