  1. Set DVOM on the 2000-ohm scale. Connect leads to crank angle sensor installed in side of engine block. Crankshaft sensor resistance should be 500-900 ohms on all models. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
  2. With sensor installed in block, connect one ohmmeter lead to either sensor terminal. Touch other ohmmeter lead to engine block. No continuity should exist. If continuity exists, sensor is shorted to ground and must be replaced.
