NOTE: Flash code diagnostics cannot be used to diagnose SIR system. Manufacturer recommends using Saturn Scan Tool (Portable Diagnostic Tool) or equivalent.

Perform diagnostic system check. See SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ  chart under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS. SIR Diagnostic system check must always be starting point of any SIR system diagnosis. SIR Diagnostic system check identifies proper operation of air bag warning (telltale) light and checks for SIR trouble codes. Refer to proper diagnostic chart as directed by SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM chart. Always repeat SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK after any repair or diagnostic procedure.
