2009 Saab 9-7X 5.3iSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the positive battery cable to the conduit.
  2. Install the positive battery cable terminal (3).
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the positive battery cable terminal nut (2) to the starter and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  5. Install the positive battery cable clip (1) to the bracket.

  7. Install the positive battery cable channel locating pin (4) to the oil pan.
  8. Install the positive battery cable channel bolt (3) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
  9. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement .

  11. Install the positive battery cable terminal (3) to the generator.
  12. Install the positive battery cable nut (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  13. Position the positive battery cable boot (2).
  14. Close the clips (4) on the retaining brackets.

  16. Install the positive battery cable terminal (2) to the junction block.
  17. Tighten the positive battery cable terminal bolt (1) at the junction block to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  19. Position the positive battery cable (1) to the battery.
  20. Tighten the battery positive cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  21. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
