Ground Circuit

1999 Saab 9-3 Base, 2D Hatchback, AutomaticSECTION Ground Circuit
  1. Turn ignition off. Use DVOM to measure ground circuit resistance. Connect one lead of ohmmeter to ground. With other lead, backprobe ECM terminals No. 24 and 25 (Black wires). Resistance should be zero ohms for each wire. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open circuit to ground. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  2. Connect negative lead of DVOM to a good ground. Measure voltage by backprobing each terminal specified in step  1 . With vehicle running, DVOM should indicate less than one volt. If voltage is not as specified, inspect for open circuit, corrosion, or loose connection on appropriate ground lead.
