  1. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select READ FUNCTIONS, then BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. Depress and release brake pedal. Read brake switch on/off position with scan tool. If scan tool displays correct reading, go to step 3). If scan tool does not display correct reading, go to next step.
  2. Check if brake light operates when brake pedal is depressed. If brake light operates, check Violet wire for an open circuit between ABS ECM terminal No. 14 and brake light switch. If brake light does not operate, repair brake light circuit.
  3. Erase DTC. Test drive vehicle at various speeds for 5 minutes. If DTC reoccurs, replace ABS ECM.
