Description & Operation
Saab Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is divided into 2 circuits. One circuit comprises the right front wheel and left rear wheel, and other circuit comprises the left front wheel and right rear wheel.
Four wheel sensors, one at each of the wheels send signals to ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which continuously calculates wheel acceleration, wheel deceleration, speed of vehicle and wheel slip. If any wheel approaches lock-up, control unit sends signals to solenoid valves in valve block for respective wheel. ABS ECU provides self-diagnostic capability. See Fig 1 .

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
