Body Work Precautions

1994 Saab 9000 Hatchback L4-2290cc 2.3L DOHCSECTION Body Work Precautions

WELDING
Before commencing any welding work, first disconnect the negative battery cable and cover it. This is to avoid damaging the car's electronic components. Wait for 20 minutes before starting work.

PAINTING
In connection with stove enamelling, use masking tape to cover all screw holes in the airbag control module mounting bracket and the control module's ground connection. This is to ensure that the control module remains properly grounded. Also mask the rivet nut threads and the front sensor contact surfaces.

ELECTRICAL WORK
Electric cables in the airbag system must not be spliced. Splicing can cause disturbances in the operation of the system which could result in injury or render the system unserviceable.

Fresh insulation may be fitted to SRS system cables if the original insulation is damaged, provided that the copper conductors are intact and undamaged.

SRS system connectors must not be oiled or greased.
