Removal & Installation: CLOCKSPRING: Removal

- Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Clockspring is located under steering wheel. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove 2 screws from upper steering column shroud. Remove plastic retainer from bottom of lower steering column shroud, and remove lower steering column shroud. Disconnect air bag module and horn pad connectors from steering column harness.
- Remove 4 screws from lower edge of instrument panel (note different lengths of screws). Remove 2 screws from lower edge of clockspring mounting plate.
- Raise instrument panel and upper steering column shroud slightly, and remove clockspring mounting screws. Carefully remove clock-spring.
