Input Shaft: Disassembly

  1. Place input shaft in a soft-jaw vise and remove snap ring. See Figure . Press out bearing from shaft. Remove 4th gear, synchronizer ring and needle bearing.
  2. Lift up synchronizer sleeve slightly and remove spring loaded rolls from synchronizer hub. Remove all springs and plungers from hub.
  3. Remove snap ring and synchronizer hub. Remove 3rd gear synchronizer ring, 3rd gear and needle bearing.
