Power Steering Pump: Disassembly

- Using a press, press end cover inward. Insert screwdriver into hole in housing to start retaining ring from groove. Remove retaining ring. Carefully tap pump against bench to remove end cover. Remove "O" ring from end cover. Remove thrust washer and end plate. Remove "O" ring from pump casing.
- Remove circlip from pump shaft. Remove pump shaft and pulley. Remove rotor, pump vanes, pump ring and inner end plate as a unit. Remove pump shaft seal. See Fig 1.
