Mass Airflow Meter
This sensor is of the hot wire type. The mass airflow meter is located between the air cleaner and throttle body. After the engine is shut off, the ECM sends a signal to heat the sensor filament for 4 seconds to burn off any deposits, provided engine speed has been greater than 2000 RPM.

When to See a Mechanic
