1994 Saab 900 S, 2D Convertible, StandardSECTION TRIONIC Ignition System (900 Series)
  1. Connect ISAT scan tester, following manufacturer's instructions. Turn ignition on. Select each individual coil from ISAT scan tool ACTIVATE menu and IGNITION COILS submenu. If all coils operate properly, go to step 3). If no coils operate, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Unplug 10-pin connector from Ignition Discharge Module (IDM), located atop engine. Turn ignition on. Connect test light between terminals No. 6 and 10 at IDM. Activate any coil with scan tool. If test light glows, temporarily substitute known good IDM and retest. If test light does not glow, repair power or ground wires to IDM.
    CAUTION: When performing the following step, position IDM with coils and spark plugs downward.
  3. Insert test spark plug into each spark plug receptacle. Ground spark plugs with Cable (86 10 867 ). Activate each coil. If no sparks occur, replace IDM. If sparks occur, replace appropriate spark plug.
