- Depress button "B" on SRS System Tester. The letters "EF" (External Fault) will appear on tester display. Depress button "C" on SRS system tester to display codes. The second time button "C" is depressed, program version will be displayed. The third time button "C" is depressed, duration of fault code will be displayed. For example of display sequence, see CODE EXAMPLE & EXPLANATIONΒ

Digits Displayed Description 41 SRS System Code 03 Program Version 01 Duration Of First Fault (Hours) 15 Duration Of First Fault (Minutes) 2d Fault Code (2-Character Alphanumeric) L Permanent Fault Type S Intermittent Fault Type - If more than one fault has been detected, each time button "C" is depressed, code for next fault will be displayed, followed by fault type. After last fault is displayed, "EF" will be displayed. Depressing "C" again will restart test from beginning, starting with SRS system code. For listing of external fault codes, see appropriate EXTERNAL FAULT CODES table, then perform repair or diagnosis.
- If a fault occurs only intermittently, it may not be present when test procedure is performed. Erase fault code and attempt to set code again by wiggling connectors, harness, etc. See ERASING FAULT CODES FROM MEMORY.
- After testing and repair, erase fault codes and turn ignition switch to ON position. Wait at least 35 seconds and ensure no fault codes reappear.
