Power Steering Pump: Disassembly

1983 Renault 18i 4D Sedan, AutomaticSECTION Disassembly
  1. Clamp pump support in a vise. Remove pulley with puller (B.Vi.28-01 ). Remove housing fixing bolts and high pressure connector. Remove control valve and spring.
  2. Remove housing. Compress the cover plate. Remove circlip from slot. Remove cover plate and rear plate spring. Remove rear plate and stator.
  3. Remove positioning pins. Remove shaft and rotor. Save the 10 blades. Separate the rotor from the shaft by removing circlip. Remove shaft seal.
