Power Steering Pump Replacement

Fastener Tightening Specifications:Β  Refer to Fastener Tightening SpecificationsΒ .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical -3.5L or Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechaincal -3.9L.
  2. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley ReplacementΒ .
  3. Remove the intake manifold Cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement in Engine Mechanical -3.5L or Intake Manifold Cover Replacement in Engine Mechanical -3.9L.
1 Bolt, Power Steering Pump (Qty: 3)

Tighten:Β  25 N.m (18 lb ft).


Tip:Β  Use an appropriate tool to remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir before removing the hoses from the pump.
2 Fitting, Power Steering High Pressure Hose.

Tighten:Β  27 N.m (20 lb ft).

3 Clamp, Power Steering Return Hose (at pump)
Tip:Β  Position the clamp rearward to remove the hose from the pump.
4 Pump, Power Steering.
