Installation Procedure

- Install the fuel line to the retainers.
- Position the fuel/EVAP lines to the vehicle underbody.
- Connect the retainers (3, 4 and 1) to the underbody.
- Install NEW rivets (5) securing the retainer (2) to the underbody
- Connect the chassis EVAP line quick connect fitting (1) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the fuel feed rear pipe quick connect fitting (1) to the chassis fuel line. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Position the retainers to the front of dash.
- Tighten the fuel/EVAP pipe retainer (2) bolt.
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
- Install the fuel/EVAP pipe retainers (1,3).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the EVAP line (2) quick connect fitting at the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the fuel feed pipe (1) quick connect fitting at the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
