2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
  2. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the control cable end from the pin on the control assembly.
  4. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
  5. Press the tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control assembly.

  7. Disconnect the control assembly electrical connectors.

  9. Remove the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts and remove the control assembly.
  10. If the shifter control assembly is being replaced, transfer the parts as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedures in this service information.
