Telematic Vehicle Localization and Immobilization Control Module (Brazil Only)
The vehicle localization and immobilization system is part of a subsystem of a broader enhanced wireless services system designed to attend the Brazilian National Traffic Council. The module is equipped with an internal antenna and a SIM card with a phone number that is unique to each vehicle VIN. Battery voltage is supplied at all times to the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module through a 10 A fuse located in the underhood fuse block. This voltage is used to by the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module to supply battery voltage to the theft deterrent module for normal vehicle operation. In the event the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module receives a cellular call to activate the localization and immobilization system, battery voltage supplied to the theft deterrent module is disengaged causing the vehicle to be in a no start condition.
