2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify that DTC C0460, C0475, or C0545 are not set in the Power Steering Control Module.
  2. Verify that DTC C0710 is not set, on vehicles equipped with and electric power steering Internal  Position Steering Angle Sensor.
    • If set, reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module.
  3. Verify that DTC C0710 is set, on vehicles equipped with the External  Steering Wheel Position Sensor
    • If DTC C0710 is set, refer to Circuit/System Testing.
  4. Position the steering wheel in the center position with the wheels facing straight-ahead.
  5. Engine running, observe the scan tool SWPS Signal A and SWPS Signal B parameters while turning the steering wheel. The readings should travel between 0-5 V and their should be approximately a 2.5 V difference between each signal.
