2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter motor.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the starter motor bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine harness terminal (4) and positive battery cable (3) to the starter solenoid.
  6. Install the positive battery cable nut (2) to the starter solenoid.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the engine harness lead (2) to the starter.
  9. Install the "S" terminal nut (1) to the starter solenoid.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the "S" terminal nut to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5)Β  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT)Β .
