  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5)Β  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT)Β .
  2. Remove the air cleaner cover only. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LAT) or Drive Belt Replacement (LE5) .
  4. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (1).
  5. Reposition the rubber boot (3).
  6. Remove the engine harness terminal lead to generator nut (2).
  7. Remove the engine harness terminal (4) from the generator stud.

  9. Remove the generator bolts.
  10. Remove the generator.
