Installation Procedure

2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the shift lock actuator (2) to the linear shift assembly.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the shift lock actuator screws (3).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  4. Connect the shift lock actuator electrical connector (1).

  6. Rotate the linear shift assembly (2) up to align the linear shift assembly bolt holes.

  8. Install the linear shift front bolts (2).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolts (1, 2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  10. Install the trim covers to the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
