2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the insulator to the battery.
  2. IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during installation.
  3. Install the battery.
  4. Install the battery hold down.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the battery hold down bolt.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  7. Install the positive battery terminal (1) to the battery.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  8. Install the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect ProcedureΒ .
